Dominic Frasca playing

Dominic Frasca (born in 1967 c) is a trained classical guitar virtuoso, a native of Akron, Ohio, but now lives in New York City. It is probably best known for his custom 10 string guitar, which lets you create a single layers of sound normally only done using multiple instruments or after the recording techniques, such as repeated.

Frasca incorporates the technique of classical guitar technique of the right hand and the techniques of rock, such as recording, the hammer supplements, and pull dismissals in his left hand. But Frasca has also expanded beyond these traditional techniques for inventing and creating other techniques to meet specific needs or problems presented by a given composition. These include the use of a prepared guitar with one string "mini capos", adding electrodes on the body of the guitar (which Frasca used for a wide range of percussive sounds and timbres), and attach sticks and levers in the body of the guitar, used to create percussive sounds. "All my inspiration comes from sets," said Frasca. "In particular the Philip Glass Ensemble, Steve Reich and musician, Anthony Davis and Episteme, The Who, The Astor Piazzolla Quintet, and Led Zeppelin, to name a few." As an artist, Frasca has also known to challenge the traditional notion of a concert by the incorporation of amplification (not typical for a concert of classical guitar), visual, speaking with the audience, and telling jokes on stage. "I was always upset when I would go to a concert of classical guitar that often leave knowing anything about the person who has just spent two hours listening. I want people to know who I am and I know who my audience is - more critical of the way in which people communicate by the discovery. "
